We have received many questions about the LJAL skill sessions. Here are the answers those that are most frequently asked.
1. What is the Skill Session? / Does my child have to attend?
For those who are new to LJAL Skill Sessions, the mandatory sessions support the effort of balanced teams. Players are run through basic drills and scrimmages as coach’s select players. There is no special requirement and all registered participants are assigned to teams. All players not in attendance will be randomly selected by hat draw; in the established coaches picking order after all other players in attendance have been selected. Coaches will contact all players within one week of the skills session with team information and practice dates.
2. What group does my child belong to?
We divide the player groups based on the Lower Elementary School (K-4) that is closest to your home address:
North – Buchannan, Coolidge, Hoover, Kennedy, Roosevelt.
South – Cleveland, Grant, Hayes, Randolph, Rosedale, Webster
